Maturity Date

Maturity Date is the date on which a bond reaches its full term and the issuer is obligated to repay the face value to the bondholder.  It is typically mentioned in the bond agreement or prospectus.

The maturity date determines the tenure or duration of the bond.  Bonds can have various maturities, ranging from short-term (e.g., a few months) to long-term (e.g., several years or even decades).

It is important for investors to be aware of the maturity date, as it helps them understand the duration of their investment and plan their financial goals accordingly.

The maturity date also marks the final coupon payment, after which no further interest payments are made.  At this point, the bondholder receives the final coupon payment along with the face value repayment
